Hospitals treating coronavirus patients with vitamin C – and doctors say it helps

Hospitals in New York have been treating coronavirus patients with vitamin C and say patients receiving the treatment did “significantly better” than those who were not given it. Patients are given extremely high dosages of the vitamin as soon as they are brought to hospital and then continue to receive the high dosages three to four times a day. Dr Andrew G. Weber, a pulmonologist and critical-care specialist affiliated with two Northwell Health facilities on Long Island, said his intensive care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C.
